This policy explains how RatesWale (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use rateswale.com. We aim to collect as little as possible.

• Price alerts & accounts. If you create an account or set a price alert, we store the email address you provide and the alert rules you configure, so we can notify you.
• Messages. If you email us or submit the price-error form, we keep what you send so we can respond and investigate.

Information collected automatically

• Basic analytics. We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are visited and roughly where traffic comes from. This is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
• Server logs. Like any website, our servers record standard request information (such as IP address and browser type) transiently for security and reliability. These are not used to build profiles.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your personal information.
• We do not show personalised advertising.
• We do not ask for sensitive financial information, and you should never send card or bank details to us.

Why we use it

• To deliver price alerts you asked for.
• To respond to your messages and corrections.
• To keep the site secure, available, and improving.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to run the site and remember your session if you sign in. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block cookies in your browser; sign-in features may then not work.

How long we keep data

Account and alert data is kept while your account is active. If you delete your account or unsubscribe, we remove the associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain something to meet a legal obligation.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent for alerts at any time. Contact privacy@rateswale.com and we’ll act on it. If you are in India, these rights align with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Third parties

We rely on infrastructure and email providers to operate. They process data only on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service. The price data we publish comes from the sources listed on our methodology page.

Children

RatesWale is a general-information site and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes

If we update this policy, we’ll change the date above. Material changes will be made clear on this page.
